A project needs to be integrated in its territory. Opposition of the populations to development projects can be based on issues linked to procedural justice, distributional justice and trust at a local and global scale. It can also arise from ideological conflicts (e.g. nature of the solutions to be proposed to climate change). Strong oppositions can put developments and works at risk if no agreement between the involved parties is found. Establishing an early and sincere dialogue with the stakeholders constitutes the best path towards acceptance
